Tanya Palta/New York 2015
Tanya Palta
Tanya Palta photographs everyday objects, architecture and landscapes in her own inimitable style to create a visual experience that is uniquely artistic and multifarious. She has a penchant for exposing the same frame multiple times, as this helps her to explore the boundaries between representation and abstraction. Through her work she aims to achieve a visual vocabulary of elements that, crackle with light, shadow, and texture.
Her work resides in many private offices, homes, but her biggest source of pride is the two permanent installations at the US EMBASSY NEW DELHI. She was commissioned to cover India without resorting to the cliches that one generally sees in photographs documenting India.
Apart from photography, DESIGN is another passion, as she has studied interiors from NEW YORK SCHOOL OF INTERIOR DESIGN. Her love for design and visual culture is well documented, and she has made a successful transition from a design blogger to running her own studio [a}nthologie-design which focuses on furnishings, branding and interiors.
In 2016, Tanya Palta also founded The Taara House , a boutique mountain lodge that has been winning accolades for successfully marrying hospitality with design.
